I'm Maya Sunshine, a multidisciplinary artist and creative community-builder based in Hawai‘i. I work with both paint and film to navigate my creative brain, capturing those in-between, imperfect moments that feel honest—like glancing back at old childhood footage or seeing early brushstrokes peek through a canvas. My process is rooted in staying playfully authentic, and I aim to invite others to reconnect with their own inner child through my work.

Beyond my personal art practice, I’ve been curating and creating art events across Hawai‘i to spotlight local artists and foster a sense of creative community. My goal is to make space for emerging voices, encourage collaboration, and help others see themselves as creatives too. Whether it's through organizing exhibitions, pop-ups, or collaborative projects, I'm passionate about showcasing artists and giving them the opportunity to be seen.

As an art sponge, I'm constantly learning, absorbing new styles, mediums, and processes—driven by the dream of becoming an art director and helping shape the visual stories that move people.
